40-stories. Though, none of that is a real building being proposed. That rendering is just a vision of what SLC and their hired consultant put together.

I like how the Slate turned out. Cool how they incorporated the older house into the project. Very impressed with the improvements of that area.

See, THIS is what a "5 over 1" style building should look like, good colors, solid shape, and BRICK BABEE

Very much agree Nebula. Fifty to One hundred years from now this will have aged well and be a definite value to the city. Buildings like this or especially Dixon or Broadway Park Lofts, and Post District are definitely in the right direction.

Utah has its eye on a location for a permanent homeless camp. Here’s where.

If the Rio Grande Plan came to fruition, not sure if this camp would be part of the plan?

That's bleak. I imagine the path to healing whatever mental health issues and/or past DV/poverty trauma they have to deal with starts with feeling secure in your exhaust clouded patch of rock and dirt the city has deigned to sacrifice for the cause. It warms the heart, tho not much else.

To be fair the whole Wasatch front has been an exhaust patch lately. My family was visiting a few weeks back and they wondered at why anyone would want to live in such a polluted place while they complained of their eyes burning and discomfort being in so much pollution.

Downtown East - 144 South Apts.

KSL.com - The forthcoming project is set to bring 110 studio and one-bedroom units for people making 60% of the area's median income when it opens in the coming years. Kanter points out that the multistory apartment complex will be located in a "prime" spot for workforce housing.

It's also located within a block of bus stops that can help residents travel to downtown, the University of Utah and other places over the county. It's also located within a few blocks of a pair of TRAX stations along the Utah Transit Authority's blue, green and red lines.

"This makes an indent," Oliver said. "We hope the state moves forward and continues to fund additional affordable projects in the Wasatch Front so we can further decrease that need."

The project, which is estimated to cost about $50 million, also includes a co-working space for people who work from home, as well as space for a dog wash, bike storage room and a public cafe.
