From an Ipsos' poll released today:

Quote:
With the Games set to begin on Friday, a majority 53% of British Columbians say they’re “excited”—with minorities of residents not very (25%) or not at all (22%) excited.
http://www.ipsos-na.com/news-polls/pressrelease.aspx?&id=4680

Once the Opening Ceremonies kick in and when Canada wins its first gold medal, I'll wager that you will see that "excited" figure begin to surge.

She was at the Official Raising of the Canadian Flag at the Athlete's village along with Stephen Harper and Rick Hansen.

went to the russian classical music/ballet show yesterday at the orpheum - I will make an effort to see sochi house, it seems the russians are here in a big way to highlight sochi and russian culture in a lead-up to their games, as with studying our games.

And yowza! a big chunk of the crowd yesterday looked like russian supermodels!

Canada Pavilion isn't just ugly, it's also 'illegal'

No B.C.-registered architect on job, as required by law

Just got a tour of RBC's executive lounge on the 36th floor of the Royal Centre. It's a blue and silver nightclub. lol. With one of the best views in the city might I add. Huge Panasonic TVs everywhere. Only open to top RBC execs and IOC/VANOC officials as of tomorrow though.

edit: That Lynx is crazy! I have never in my life seen at Lynx at Whistler.

That Lynx is actually a Bobcat - Lynxs are bigger (and meaner).

Really great finds, SpongeG . . . especially love the lynx and the French ads. The French ads definitely win the prize for a lighthearted appeal.

Thanks for finding and posting them.

You're right, of course. And I'm actually embarrassed because I grew up in an area where I saw lots of bobcats. I should have known better, but I just repeated what I'd read instead of trusting my eyes .
