Fighting? He has a job to fight. Hey I like him, not being a hater, but he's just doing his job.

Like the Executive Director of the Osborne Village Biz? Exchange Biz? No, he goes above and beyond, and has more passion than many others.

Honestly, I think we're fortunate to have Stefano's team. He doesn't even live anywhere close to downtown.

There's doing a job, then there's being passionate about that job. He is always front and centre.

"We've acquired a facility in the heart of Winnipeg," said Peitsch. The location can't be disclosed for security and regulatory reasons.

The 320,000 square-foot inner city warehouse is situated on a number of acres that could potentially be expanded to a million square feet of production space.
So where is this mystery 320,000ft^2 location in the heart of Winnipeg? Not too many options.

Great-West Life cutting 1,500 jobs (13% of its workforce). 450 of which will be coming from it's head office in Winnipeg.

That is brutal. That's a lot of good-paying jobs to lose.

The old Canada Cartage area in South Point Douglas was up for lease? I haven't walked by there lately to see if the signs are still up. It seems to fit the description.

47 Gomez is only around 92kft^2 so the building, if it is just one, is over 3X the size.

The former Safeway warehouse on King Edward is 300,000+ sq ft with room to expand.

Inner-city might be a smoke screen and also very subjective.

Ah, good point. You would expect there would be an issue filling such a large space and I have heard nothing advertised about it. I think you solved it!

Purely a guess on my part. No inside info.

I'm by there daily and there's still tons of Safeway trucks going in and out.

NRC labs on Ellice?

smart when u look at the biger picture and understand their workforce its temporary as they replace jobs with new ones and sometimes u cant shuffle people into these new positions, u have to replace them with new people and skills in the end it will be positive for younger people with new ideas as older folks retire

But if he does his job well, I'd give him a high five.

Hell, if most at the city would just do their job I'd be giving out high fives like Oprah.

That's not relevant. I don't know if he has a wife and kids, but we don't really have downtown options if he does. Hell, we don't really have many downtown options if he's single and successful either.

But he works downtown! I'm passionate about our downtown because I work there and spend leisure time there, although I'm actually from outside the city.

My money's on the NRC labs. The article said that all those maximum security features are already in place in the building... can't think of any other "warehouse" available in "the heart of the city" that would have that and be on several acres.
