They're just a tad more likely to drive a Honda Civic decaled with pokemon 200 kph over the Knight st. bridge though.

That's a shame, cause the hippie movement did a lot of good back in the late 60s, early 70s. Can you imagine how much more sexually repressed todays society would be without the hippies? And our freedom of thought? Look, the hippie culture doesn't exist anymore. Not like it did decades ago. That's why they call it the Hippie Generation... Peace and Love just doesn't have the same ring to kids these days. That's too bad. I really wish someone could explain to me what people are referring to when they talk about hippies... which I'm sure is something completely different.

a pop restaurant at the opus - called 100 days (how long it will last) - they have spray painted all over the place and used the cans as art inside it seems... anyway they also painted the shrubbery

ORLY? I'd trace a lot of what's wrong with this city back to the hippie "movement". I'll reply with my favourite clip, back when we had real leadership!

in my opinion the biggest problem is the filthy bums who shoot up and shit all over the dtes. hippies slept with whoever they wanted, had kids they didnt care for , and raised them poorly. thus resulting in said bums who just shoot up all day and take dumps where they please. (insert photo of poop and syringes.)

^ Damn dude, you figured out the cause of homelessness in Vancouver! That's astounding. It all makes sense now...they're all descended from hippies! I find your ideas intriguing, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter...

Anyhoo, to try and get this somewhere near on topic...here's a picture I took in Vancouver once:

how do you get such clear night shots?

some sort of combination of 100 ISO, tripod, F22?

^ On a tripod, so yeah, always using as low an ISO as the camera allows, and I like to keep the aperture in the f/8-f/11 range. Using a smaller aperture will cause diffraction, which softens the image. At which aperture this occurs depends on the lens though. Use a larger aperture and you won't get the nice 'starbursts' from the points of light.

Wrote up a brief 'howto' for night shots on my blog:
