If the pool is not ready by July 1, I think someone will get some form of penalty.
The site was sitting idle between March and May. But for the last few weeks the construction was in overdrive mode and workers were working on Saturday. It was kind of fun to watch workers preparing the Cauldron got in the way of workers doing the pool construction. So PAVACO must be putting pressure to the contractors.

CTV news just showed the test firing of the Cauldron, looks good, and the reporter was wearing red mittens on his hand!

I just learned that the names of everyone who worked on the Games will have their name on the side of the moat around the cauldron. I hope I can find my name once it opens up!

I received a DVD called "Behind The Moments" today from VANOC as a volunteer and it had a candid scene with John Furlong talking about the post-Games plans with a colleague, mentioning the reflecting pool and the inscription of the names. He didn't specify if it was just VANOC paid staff or the volunteers though.

Looks like the CC will be a rocking soon. The South/West corner by the cauldron will be the new home for the Cactus Club.

Nope, just the usual great looking waitresses and expensive umbrella drinks.

Information obtained from the guys working inside the space.

Turning into the Starbucks of yuppie dinettes.
Isn’t the "future" beach restaurant at English Bay also a Cactus Club.

It'll be operated by Cactus Club, but it won't be a Cactus Club.

I think they'll both continue to do well because the one at dunsmuir is their flagship and a location at the convention centre should be pretty popular due to location

Blue fence is down now. Great job to the crew getting it finished in time for the festivities!
