That's a retaining wall. It was my hope that they make it into an art piece for train passengers... or at least ad space.

I guess it's step one in eventually decking over the rail corridor.

That could be a long process. In the meantime maybe they should just cover it in adspace, or even just a wrap covered in Concord logos.

I'd rather see it let alone then covered in ad space. There are too many billboards along the rail corridor already.

Nice shot of the podium Cal

In my opinion this building is to large for that intersection... It towers over everything else in the area and it seems too close to street level... Just saying... (in my opinion)....

**But it's gonna look good in the skyline!!!... (and that's all that matters... he he he)

I think that once the hoarding is gone it will look a whole ton roomier on that sidewalk.

me personally..
I love that the podium destroys the street with it's size.

It's a nice change from timid podiums.. to have a podium totally overpower a street. And the Glass!!!! wow!!

Nice shot of Casa...

I've always thought of Casa as a cheap looking building architecturally... Wrap-around balconies on every floor is older architecture and it's just a rectangle which makes it even worse.... It reminds me of the recently built Pulse Condos in North York City Centre which were an architectural disaster (in my opinion) as the wrap around balconies looked old.... But Casa being tall and slim (plus the cool roof) makes it look good in the skyline, but the glass only looks good weather-depending.... But it looks great in the skyline and thats all that matters...

Thats just in my opinion

Here is Pulse Condo's below in North York.. The architecture was old and boring, the glass turned out bad, everything went wrong in this one... And it was only built last year and it already looks like an old building with old design...

The point is I don't like this cheap-looking, old-school architecture...

Anyone else agree?...

Peace

**PS. I am not a Casa Hater... and what's the top floor of Casa (the one below the rooftop) gonna be used for???... Observation deck?... Facilities???.... Mechanical???

Here is where I disagree. From an esthetic perspective, perhaps. But from a functional perspective, and individual usable space, I love it. The whole smokers nook patio that is 4ftX4ft is pretty lame, and non-functional. Where as a larger patio like this creates an extension of the units into an outdoor living area. With appropriate patio furniture, plants, area rugs, etc. these usable spaces are a growing selling feature for high-density residential units. Check out the show suite for Clear Spirit in the Distillery District and you'll see what I mean. With the great weather we get for 4-5 months of the year, having individual space to enjoy it is always welcome.

Man... X Condo's glass is already looking old... The black is too dull for my liking but at least it will be a great skyline filler

Nice shot of Murano... It's looking good!!!

Here's a shot by seekdes on Flickr (he posted the photo in my group "Toronto Skyscrapers and Skyline):

**the shot may be a couple weeks old but it's still a great shot***
