That K-W skyline angle actually looks pretty nice!

Chemin des terres! You can actually safely park and enjoy the view.

There's 6 under construction give or take that would crack the top 10. That makes 41 proposed. Or, Perhaps I'm just reading that wrong.

The near continuous skyline was quirky for even a fanboy to say. That's Caltrane or Chadillac level fanaticism
I'll admit that the first shot Harley posted a few days ago doesn't seem that impressive. A bunch of small tower clusters that honestly pale in comparison to similar transit node clusters in Vancouver, for example, doesn't make for a super impressive, continuous skyline.

The urban parts Harley posted yesterday though does show a significance shift in Ottawa's urban fabric. Other than the few tallest towers along Line 2 (900 Albert and The Sky near Dow's Lake) may never happen, but the rest of it will very likely become reality. They are championed by developers with a proven track record like Claridge (for better or worse design wise), Ottawa Community Housing, Brigil. A few significant project not currently u/c are expected to start this year.

Anyway, Ottawa has a lovely skyline that captures its essence as a Commonwealth capital situated along a rushing river. Hewers of wood, drawers of water. Peace, order and good government.

Whatever shape is formed by its condominiums is superfluous.

Become reality over how many decades? I repeat. A snap shot of today says 6 of these 47 towers are under construction and, keep in mind, each one of these is under construction for multiple years. A couple will still appear on a snap shot of 95 metre towers under construction 2 years from now. Point remains, It's incredibly optimistic to lump every proposals many of which are no more than zoning exercises with under construction. It suggests they have virtually equal standing which is typically backed by zoning approval touted as the largest hurdles despite every urban centre having languishing approved developments. the stats always point to a higher likelihood of an approved project languishes the taller it is.

This is not being inferred however, should Claridge and Brigil make up the majority of these proposals works against the chances a significant number of these 47 proposals will get built in short order. There are very proficient developers. The number of towers under construction by Claridge right now is not the number of towers they deliver per year.

There's potential that the housing initiative sponsored by administrations doing everything to inflate the housing boom from its natural cyclical cycles is nearing its end. That could adversely effect high rise construction more than the sky high costs inhibiting new privately funded construction

These streets not too far from my place just south of A-50 near Gréber also have great views. I believe that the few undeveloped lots there have been condemned because of a landslide risk.

The houses on this street not too far away are nice but fairly modest semi-detached properties, but also have million-dollar views from the rear windows.

About 25 years ago you could probably buy one of these houses for around 100k.

Blue protective film on black panels and white film on blue panels edged with green panel. Think a bad version of google earth globe view

Thanks for the info Shappy.

I don’t mind that white spot building - could have been a more innovative pattern, but it’s probably better than the original state, no?

Not full VIctoria ‘skyline’ shots, but interesting glimpses of downtown and area from perspectives that seem fresh. Relying on good ol’ realtor photos to do the trick.

First off a view from the edge of James Bay opposite Beacon Hill park and looking towards downtown. For a 1971 build looks surprisingly fresh and modern.

It's not a white spot building. That's protective film. The actual cladding is a representation of the earth that looks like a crude opening Google Earth view.
