But anyone who's paying attention to the situation knows it's extremely unsettled. Until it is settled, there's going to be relocation rumors - whether people like it or not. And it's not settled at the moment.

Since they play in the city I live in currently, I guess you can say I pay attention a bit.
Rumors, sure... unsettled in Phoenix, absolutely. But looking to relocate is definitely a stretch at this point, a lot of us in the market expected that to be the outcome after the vote failed but they and the league have doubled down on PHX. Relocation options could become the case if an arena solution is not found by end of year or so... but both the commissioner and team have stated they're set on Phoenix now.
Until Ryan Smith or whomever puts together real plans for an NHL arena in SLC this is nothing more than a rumor as well, and would just put any team moving there in an equally unsettled situation. In the Coyotes case, they would once again be playing in an NBA specific arena, in a smaller market than they're currently in.
I'd love to see NHL and MLB in SLC, specifically downtown not Draper or whatever. I don't want it to be my team that moves there but it's not in my control. But I've said this before adding more pro teams has been teased since I was a kid, many years ago now. MLS came in and that's been it so far. It could be many more decades before anything happens but I will temper my excitement until I see a funded/approved stadium plan.
