The signs say "build to suit" So he's waiting for someone to show interest before doing anything. Maybe someone will build a nice, high end condominium or rental place there. It would bring the more wealthy people that this city needs in the core. But to attract these people, we need better retail in the area, more high end stores like clothing stores and better grocery options.
And we need a stronger transit system. Maybe a BRT service with signal priority and dedicated lanes. There are too many full buses and it takes far too long to get across the city using transit.
I'd really like to see
this building ripped out and replaced with something like
this. There is a very sprawling parking lot surrounding it that is really unsightly, like any surface parking lot for that matter.
