We knew everything about Aura. The speculation surrounded a minor variance to increase the height. This tower is about to have its foundations poured and there is absolutely nothing confirmed. Even the rendered design has questions. It's just mind boggling from our perspective. An Edmontonian can know more about a Toronto development proposals than one in their own backyard. It's all archived online.

Certainly disrupts the Toronto sensibility traits for good order and fine record keeping. Thank god Edmonton Bureaucrats are not in charge of our money.Thank God, Whippersnapper you are in charge of our money. Lol!

That's a bit of a stretch. Often heights of buildings are not confirmed initially, especially if you are planning to be that tall. And the timeline of the entire Edmonton Arena District project, including the Stantec and Delta Hotel, are very ambitious. Makes sense it would not all be in stone just yet. Patience.

While we wait for confirmation, a not so glamourous shot of a hole in the ground.

I love triangle buildings. I know they don't make the best floor areas, but damn they can be sexy.

This thing was almost a square with an awkward triangular podium. I'm so glad there was a significant redesign to make better use of the triangular site. The original 10 York proposal was painfully awful.

One Bloor is looking better and better as we see more progress. This could be one of the best looking urban corners in the city when all the activity is done. But that would mean an overhaul of the CIBC Tower or it's replacement as was floated around a few years back.

That explains why I never saw it. It just popped up on my pinterest account as being a week old. Well at least it's a large render for anybody interested in seeing more details then on the first page.

That's a huge hole! It also looks to be in the middle of nowhere from that angle.

Very north edge of downtown.
