I thought I saw somwhere that the larger triangle was reserved as the site of a future art work or monument.
Can they remove the lone wooden electric pole sticking up from the beautiful grass lawn. All electric poles in the area for that matter. After all that work they still haven’t found a way to bury them on Albert and Bronson. Elgin in comparison looks so clean without these. It is transformative for the streetscape.
Will the mid-block crossing be re-instated when this project is done? They’ve installed TWSI plates as part of the roadwork in the area that would indicate such, but I don’t remember seeing any traffic signal infrstructure.

Yep, pole stubs are in place for the signals, will be installed next spring / summer as the front facade work on the library completes allows them to get in and finish the sidewalks / cycle tracks

And that shot was the last one I took before crashing my drone into Juliana Apartments building while backing off to take a wider shot, after 3 years of accident-free flying.
RIP little guy 🥲
No more drone pictures from me for the next while.

At least you can say that you have a better safety record than Boeing
Driving by today, I noticed that bronze metal panels have been added to the stone bands on the facade, in what seems like a random sort of way. I don't think I like it - the stone is very nice.
Those are solar cells. I'm all for environmental innovation, but it doesn't work here and kind of ruins an otherwise great public building. Solar panels should have gone on the roof, or had a more intentional layout/patern.
