There is no way I'm disappointed 300 N. LaSalle is 784' instead of 809'. The extreme vertical lines of this tower make it appear taller. Besides, we'd all rather have a slightly shorter beauty than a super tall crime against humanity; a.k.a. Beitler Tower.

Victor's analysis makes sense. I must admit that I don't know much about the official measurement criteria. Good thing others do. Too bad that we won't see that "8" to start off the height though.

I'm more happy hearing the demo of the parking structure is beginning in March....this baby could be U/C this summer!

Hopefully this will be steel frame construction. It would be nice to see a tall one, or any building for that matter, go up using something other than that boring poured concrete.

Although I've been known to be mistaken recently, since this is an office building it is almost inevitable that it will be a concrete core and steel frame with aluminum, glass and stainless steel curtain wall façade. . . perhaps Steely can correct me if I've misled anyone

Not to criticize your superior work, STR, but it appears that Teng tower is on the wrong side of the river. It also could be that I am disoriented and need another drink.

^The latter. It's on the correct side of the river, but it's probably because the diagonal cut makes it seem otherwise.

You're probably right, spy, but I was thinking it should look like it was on a line with Leo Burnett and RRD. Instead, it seems to line up with Marina Towers.

^ it is in line with RR donnelly and leo burnett in STR's image above, you guys are just seeing things weird or something. check out the lasalle-wacker immediately to waterview's west. it's in the same line.

as spyguy said, it's probably the shadow on waterview's triangular side that's throwing you guys off.

Whatever it is, I am so happy that parking structure will disappear. It is such an ugly sight whenever I am in Brown Line northbound.
