Hanover Republic Square has a tenant for it's retail space. Right now it has massive coming soon poster and mentions Lobos Hospitality. I found this recent article. Looks like a restaurant and speakeasy bar.
https://whatnowaus.com/new-restauran...tious-concept/

I've also been walking by the old Stereotype by W 6th. under construction recently after being closed since COVID started. Unsure what's going there or if they're reopening.

Lastly, Trulucks' is moving to the new 3rd and Colorado tower. Looks like it'll be both the 1st and 2nd floors of retail space.

Nice update on Truluck's. We'd all been wondering. But also at least a year or two away, yeah?

I'd say a year, they've been working on it for 1-2 months and now have Truluck's signs in the windows.

Bacalar should be opening soon at 44 East. The signs are up. Pretty excited about what that space will bring. Location is great. Here's an old article about the restaurant.

I hope Second Bar and Kitchen is considering reopening a downtown location. If they are, the old Truluck's would seem to be a good spot for them.

There's one in the East Austin Hotel on E 6th. It's basically their lobby but nothing special

I think they're done with brick and mortar. Their only location left is in the BJT at ABIA.

They recently closed the location in the Archer (Domain Northside). Another concept is already been declared for that location.

My wife and I went to "Parker" this past weekend. it's a nice little venue and the drinks are reasonanly priced. Intimate concert setting but I felt like my wife and I were the youngest people there (Jazz concert) other than the wait staff. Has anyon else been there? it's pretty neat.

Just looked at their website and calendar. Seems to be very interesting. I'd love to check it out, and I am definitely from the older demographic. Hope they find an audience for their type of entertainment. Is Austin big enough and sophisticated enough to support a jazz and American Songbook type venue?

Absolutely. We've had the Elephant Room for more than 30 years.

There is also Monk's, C-Boys Heart & Soul, and Skylark (blues). Several other places play jazz from time-to-time - like The Continental Club. And, I'm sure I am missing some other clubs/venues. There are probably some in the burbs too.

In any case, I definitely need to experience the Parker.

Great club. Been going regularly a couple of years now. Good cocktails and good music. Spent the last 2 NYE events there.

Not sure what’s coming here.

Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop’s new location. Could be a sign the current site will be redeveloped.

That might explain why they haven't bothered to remove all the graffiti their current location has been tagged with.

While grabbing coffee I spoke to one of the employees at Juan Pelota’s. He didn’t know much of what’s to come next of the building but it has new owners and believes it will be torn down. Juan Pelota’s will not be joining Mellow Johnny’s in the move, which is expected to happen in June.

So we gain a paperboy and lose a Snooze - sounds like a good exchange for S. Lamar brunch.
