That rendering has to be old, or the floor number is incorrect.

30 Hudson Yards is 73 stories. The Spiral is 66 stories. 50 Hudson is 58 stories.

72 stories would make this building at least in the 1,100-1,200 foot range.

Assuming 15 foot ceiling heights . . .

Adding 25 stories to the previous 717 foot tall building gets us to . . .

1,092 feet.

I didn’t catch how much bigger this tower will be until now (47 floors vs. 72). That’s over a 50 percent increase.

We haven’t seen yet that it has an “actual” 72 floors. That could just be the marketed number, as has been the case with new office towers.

The tower is already under construction with foundations nearing completion and tenants expected to move in in late 2028. Deloitte has committed to take 800K SF for its North America headquarters. It currently occupies approximately 500K SF in Rockefeller Center.

As part of its lease, Deloitte will have its own lobby on Hudson Boulevard. Leasing for the top floors will commence this year, and those tenants will have a separate entrance on 35th Street.

Designed by Gensler and Roger Ferris + Partners, 70 Hudson Yards is projected to be New York's first all-electric, carbon-neutral office building.

When Related broke ground on the project in July, it was expected to be 47 stories, but plans were expanded to accommodate the return of leasing demand. Inventory of prime office space in particular has been depleted, with the city's vacancy rate falling below 15% in the third quarter, the lowest since before the pandemic, according to JLL.

It will be interesting to find out what expansion plans were approved. That's a big jump from 47 stories to 72 stories, so I am a bit skeptical. Does anyone have full access to this article?

We'll see what happens when they file for the full tower. Like all Hudson Yards towers, development rights are transferred from the railyards. This is currently circulating in City Planning for approval, which should happen soon.

Deloitte will occupy floors 16 to 45 at 70 Hudson Yards, according to CoStar data.

Both the Related and Oxford press releases say the same thing, 72 floors, so we'll see.

Designed by Gensler and Roger Ferris + Partners, with lobby interiors by acclaimed luxury hospitality designer INC, the 72-story building located on Hudson Boulevard and 35th Street features unmatched design, expansive floorplates, indoor/outdoor workspace and luxury hospitality-style amenities.

In 2025, Deloitte signed a lease for over 800,000 square feet of space at 70 Hudson Yards, representing the largest tenant relocation in New York City since 2020. Leasing for the uppermost levels of the tower, 550,000 square feet of dedicated space with private outdoor terraces, a separate lobby experience, and an entire floor of exclusive club amenities, will commence in 2026.

The LEED Platinum-designed building will be New York’s first all-electric, carbon-neutral office building and set a new standard for efficiency, advanced infrastructure, and sustainable technology. The façade of 70 Hudson Yars features refined warm copper articulated metal piers with a dramatic entry framed in a warm palette of sandstone and limestone.

The building’s interiors include expansive, hyper-efficient floorplates, large outdoor terraces and uninterrupted views of the Hudson River and City skyline, as well as an amenity floor with a private dining room and event space for 200+ guests. The ground floor features street-level retail and restaurant space, with direct access to Bella Abzug Park and the 7 train.

Quote:
The move comes after Deloitte inked an 800,000 square foot lease at the planned 1.4 million-square-foot tower last April. This will serve as the professional services network's new U.S. headquarters, relocating from Rockefeller Center. Also, the deal marks the largest tenant relocation deal in New York City since 2020.

The development located on Hudson Boulevard and 35th Street will feature both indoor and outdoor workspace, private terraces and an exclusive amenity club. Leasing for the upper levels of the building (550,000 square feet) is expected to start this year.
Previously, this was a 1.1 msf tower.

Seems the crane is finally going up, per Blau...

Great way to start 2026: Congrats to our team for completing the full $2.45 billion capitalization of 70 Hudson Yards, our newest multi-tenant office tower underway, which will be anchored by Deloitte's US Headquarters. New York City is extraordinary in its ability to attract the world’s top talent and we continue to experience equally extraordinary demand for Class-A office. When industry leaders like Deloitte want to relocate here in New York, we are thrilled that they look to the dynamic environment and neighborhood we have built at Hudson Yards.

...To come back to the office today and see our tower crane going up on site was exciting.

Becoming a little clearer. The remaining parcel on the block was added to the overall site assemblage of the block it seems.

Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group dropped $52 million on a parcel at 463 10th Avenue, which will be part of its under-construction office tower at 70 Hudson Yards. The seller was an LLC tied to Soheil Khayyam that had owned the site for decades.

Related and Oxford announced that the firms also secured $2.45 billion in financing for the 1.4-million-square-foot office tower, which will be Deloitte’s new U.S. headquarters. The financing, led by Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Standard Chartered, includes a $1.6 billion construction loan.

This tower is going from 47 to 72 floors. While some floors may be "imaginary," Related clearly isn't "making up"25 floors. Thus, to the extent that at least 15 to 20 new floors liklely will be added, I suspect that this tower will be at least 850 to 900 feet tall. If so, I hope that they taper it a bit at the top.

On the other hand, with the new parcel, they could simply enlarge the base, but I assume that they won't limit it to that because higher floors yield higher rents.

This tower will be 832 feet tall per official docs.

Not a supertall, but a decent increase.

That’s what was filed, but you need to subtract 30 ft for elevation. We’re still waiting on updated filings.

You can see here, filings aren’t complete.

So do you think that this will be about 815 feet tall?

No. As you can see here, the building will be at least 844 ft tall. The expanded tower should be above that. We will get updated information eventually.
