It looks like the phase 2 office tower will be 15 stories.

Beautiful design, but somebody needs to cut the grass - Unless they are going for that "unkept/natural" look.

I won't go into the environmental and economic benefits of only cutting grass once or twice a year (to keep the grasses healthy and remove evasive species), but I think the long grasses look great along the Beltline, as well as provide a place for nature. Much of the grasses will be removed when they extend the streetcar in this area, anyway.

They must be having a lot of pre-leasing interest if they are adding another few stories on the phase II building. I heard from someone a year or so ago they are keeping the 'three tree hill' for this project, as that is on ABI property and noteworthy element in that area.

I tried to talk to my wife about the "environmental and economic benefits of only cutting grass once or twice a year", but she wasn't having it!

I will try the "providing a place for nature" bit on her next.

Yes...I will probably have to go with your suggestion. I end up having to say it most of the time anyway...ugh.

Is this the side facing the Beltline or the park?

This is the side fronting the Beltline- the stretch of concrete in the foreground is the Beltline path.

FWIW the oak knoll to the left is supposed to be preserved when they build the other tower.

Not sure if this has ever been posted, but a model of the entire development. Did we know about the surface parking lot? I don't understand why that couldn't be turned into additional greenspace with the park.

Yes, the parking lot is in the site plan on page 5 of this thread. It says interim parking, so it will likely be developed in a future phase.

I was about to ask what that weird elevated road was in the bottom, and then I realized it's the edge of the glass case.

Surface lot has been in the works the duration, though other site plans have it for multi family residential and townhomes in the future.

That said, when I spoke with Irwin about the surface lot and phase 2, that there were no specific use or plans around what and when they might develop.

Thanks for posting the photo of the model Ant! I had not seen that before so I was excited. Where is this located? Is it visible to us plebeians?

I'd imagine at the nearby New City corporate office.

This looks fantastic. Who says we can't get quality development in Atlanta?
