No kidding, went by the site tonight and thought how sweet it would be if it was twice as tall.

Still no glass as of today but they have tarped in all the way to the 4th floor, with glass support thingys up to the 3rd floor. Shouldn't be long before we see the first panels installed

Glass Spotted at SOM's 707 Fifth Street

Quote:
New photos show the very first row of glass beginning installation, as the rest of the indented tower is wrapped for protection from the elements. Though construction activity currently obstructs a good view of the facade, we can tell that the glass is highly reflective. We'll be watching this closely from the ground and from above as more glass is installed.

Really? It doesn't bother me at all, it's just an update on a project. If you don't want to go to that site, then don't go. Ironically the post, while linking to a competitor site is actually relevant, while yours are the definition of spam.

The curve has quite a nice effect on the street wall on 7th ave. This will be a nice addition.

There are a few more pics showing the glazing in sunny conditions if anyone's interested. Looks great so far.

I should know better than to let the golden-hour light in the renderings set my expectations, but I was thinking the glass would be a bit lighter and warmer on this tower.

In reality its more cool green/grey...not unlike Brookfield. Hard to really judge it at this stage I guess.

Very transparent - some of the best glass I've seen here.

I see blue and darker to Brookfield's light green.

That night shot didn't turn out so good. I was hoping my phone would better capture the illuminated bird's nest atop the tall concrete pole. Here it is again in daylight from yesterday morning, still no glass on 7th ave side.
