Interesting. Where is that from? I'd love to know which architect is working on this project. Hopefully we'll see some elevations soon.

Quite curious about the design now (as we all are). But finally a new step toward a proper streetwall on the south side of King William.

The feel of King will change too, if this proposed 34 storey tower and the next phase of Connaught go ahead.

Someone else had a sketchup model of all the proposals in town right? This is definitely a significant addition.

I don't have time to update my whole skyline rendering tonight, I'll try to do that sometime within the next few weeks.

Until then, here are some rough SketchUp renderings of 45 King that I made based on the site plan...

@thomax -thanks so much, last render my fav .... dont suppose too much to ask if the new tower beside Lister block could be added to have a real sense how those massings would look in cumulative fashion by, say 2019!

It is.

It's also staggering to consider how long it remained largely the same, at least until the glacial pace of change began to accelerate, especially in the past few years.

All the best to everyone here for 2017, and to downtown Hamilton as well.

(PS: nice work Thomax. Thanks! )

^ The city is working on declaring those municipal lots as surplus land and therefore sell it. So we could see some action soon.

^That's a big step. The City is addicted to parking.

The city has sold two municipal lots recently as surplus so far, one beside the York Blvd parking garage, the same developer that repair/rebuilt 95-109 James St North bought it. The other lot is behind the Christ's Church Cathedral, I believe there's a proposal for a condo development.
