It was clear to me, but I've forgotten for the moment. I'll get back to you when it comes back...

Next week, New York City’s Industrial Development Agency, a unit of the city Economic Development Corp., will vote on a $76.5 million property-tax exemption for One Hudson Yards, a redesign of a 49-story tower that Hudson Yards developer Related Cos. purchased from Extell Development Co.

Under terms of the exemption, New York-based Related and a partner will receive a 25 percent to 35 percent break on its real estate taxes for 15 years, said Joanna Rose, a Related spokeswoman. The remainder will go to cover bond payments.

Nothing is ever attractive enough for tenants. That's why it's always work to land them.

I wonder who is designing this one. Could be Childs.

I actually like this one. It has a sorta classic feel to it. The earlier version was nice as well.

Yes a very 70's feel to it.

Did you mean 50's/60's because 70's was really one of the worst decades for architecture?

Yes 50s/60s Mies era? Maybe even older, can't figure out what building it reminds me of.

I don't have a tremendously strong opinion about the aesthetics of these buildings (450 W 33rd looks fine to me), but I do like the "classic" look of the current proposal.

I really don't like how people appreciate the bland box architecture. I respect their opinion, but it really bugs me. They're wasted opportunities for something grand, at least with trademark New York setbacks. Same thing with 432, I don't like it. I really hope this isn't the final proposal, as I feel like this 70s tower does not fit well with the two main modern towers. And that's my rant.

What a dismal redesign - I was so excited for that beautiful diagonal bracing! The new building is so busy and distracted and, worst of all, a box. Total regression.

No one said that was a finalized design.

It reminds me of that office building in 55th and 8th (not a good thing).

I'm guessing that the latest batch of renders we saw is much more up to date than the model.

Lest we forget that the Hudson Yards was once proposed as this.

^ Those are placeholders as well, though the current concept evolved from that.

Related's original site plan proposal...

MSG towers in the background...

Compared to Vornado's, which was very similar...

^ Exactly, which is why we should just let the architects do their jobs and wait for final designs before we panic.

If you look at this Rendering you can see that 1 Hudson BLVD's base is the same as the one presented in the model. i thin there trying to express the same building but in the model they just didn't add the curved crown.

I'm not sure the crown will be as depicted in the rendering or as shown on the model. It could be neither when all is said and done.

Thank you.

I'm heartened to see that the block owned by NY state (south of Javits) is STILL being used for trailer truck parking in the late teens? future
