I think you mean exitting to the alley - but I agree - you could put in a small shallow retail frontage there (probably at little cost, except maybe for providing plumbing).
But the issue becomes moot if the condo tower is built there.

That corner would be home to the residential portion of this development. As for ownership, Westbank/Peterson are developing it, and would own the land in the interim. Whether the decide to keep it after it's completed is unknown, my guess is they would try and sell it to a REIT or something.

New article, some added information

Quote:
Telus's headquarters has always been situated in the Lower Mainland, Hall said. Of Telus's 3,500 employees across the country, 1,000 of them work in Vancouver.

Hall said Telus aims to have 70 per cent of its employees working at home or offsite full-time or part-time in the next five years, so a new office building would feature shared, open workspaces instead of walled offices. He couldn't say what proportion of an office tower Telus employees would occupy.

Couldn't agree more about "aargh .. more turquoise..." It's becoming the "theme colour" of the city. (I would have preferred something upbeat, like a cream-colour, or such. Oh well .... )

Also > if there is an overall consensus to create a continuous "canyon effect" on Georgia, then why place the taller building in the background, and the shorter on on Georgia?

Won't this break up the continuity of the street? I'm sure there are practical reasons for having it the way it is, but I would have liked to see the "canyon" extend just that much farther along. It creates that true "big city; important street" feeling. .... (just my opinion, though)

Good question. Might want to ask why the proposal was put forward before the developer had secured all of the land... city owns the parkade on the corner, and they were nowhere close to securing the parkade site when they went public.

Did this always say 43fl residential or am I imagining things? The rendering looks too stumpy to be 43fl.

Is this real life?

Worried about your new view, or wondering whether you should buy?

Buying a Telus branded condo isn't on my list of things to do, for sure. It probably comes with some annoying elevator usage fees...

And you don't even want to know what that smoke alarm will cost you per month.

If you get the right strata plan, your incoming water might be free, but you'll probably still have to pay for outgoing water.

I got a pretty good plan with unlimited building access and electric but I just heard from Telus that its an antiquated service plan so I probably need to look at "alternative" plans available for the highrise before they start charging antiquated plan fees.

And the elevator is ten times faster going down than up.
