Snow on the ground in Ottawa-Gatineau this morning as well. In most of southern Quebec it seems.

Nothing stuck to road surfaces or sidewalks though.

Those tropical nights don't matter much once the snow flies....

Someone better do a wellness check on Nicko....

+0.4C in Moncton at 10 AM and overcast. Wet snow expected here as well this afternoon with a high of +2C.

First snow of the season this year, about two weeks earlier than the recent normals.

The cold is here, only 5.2 degrees, and the high is supposed to be 6. We will freeze sometime overnight. This will be the earliest freeze since I moved here, but not by much. Previous freeze dates have all been between Nov 1 and 13, which is pretty much like clockwork in weather terms.

YHZ dropped to a low of 1.5 this morning at 5 am. At 11 am it's 2.2. On Bedford Basin we were 6.3 at midnight and we've been dropping ever since reaching a low of 3.7 at 11 am. It's cold and grey with on and off light rain. TWN is forecasting a high of 4 today increasing to 5 overnight and up to 6 under sunny skies for Tuesday... and then, yes I hate to say it, -1 at midnight. Barring some really poor forecasting, our freeze date will be either Oct 31 or Nov 1. My understanding is that this is pretty much a bang-on normal first freeze date for Halifax.

I noted this morning that there is still no 'Monthly' data available on TWN.

Currently 3ºC in Sackville New Brunswick, 11:30am

Like much of New Brunswick today we are expecting 5-10cm of snow throughout the afternoon.

Typing this out in the gym the first snow flakes of the season are starting to fall.

Still hasn't started to snow in Moncton yet. These flakes must be coming in off the bay.

Looks like a winter map, this will be the coldest Halloween in years for many places!

^ I can remember taking a pic of my kid on Halloween in 2010 (I think?) and it was frigid and snowy.

A few years later, I remember trick or treating and it was around 20 degrees.

In 1991, they cancelled school in Manitoba because it was -30.

I have no idea why I remember these useless tidbits.

Snow started in Moncton about 30 minutes ago. Already beginning to coat some of the grassy surfaces.

We may set a record tonight. Looking at around -20C overnight. The record low is -21.6C today and -23.3C tomorrow.

It is supposed to moderate tomorrow a bit with a high of -2C.

Snow ice cream in Ottawa? As kids we'd take freshly fallen snow, add some maple syrup or golden syrup with vanilla and if available, condensed milk, and enjoy.

As a teenager, I used to make pizza using matzo with mom's homemade pizza sauce, some cheddar and fresh basil. Considering most frozen pizza tastes like cardboard anyway.

Now, they're all made in a large factory in London Ontario, notorious for using TFW. $3.49 on sale at No Frills this week. I used to buy them on sale for $1.88 five years ago.

(A week ago I tried a gluten-free Margherita Pizza Oggi, which made me very sleepy and fatigued.)

It might snow in KW tomorrow.
I'm sorry about your reflux but maybe there are lighter pizzas you could eat

WOW!!! I think that the first snow that falls has a great charm. Even if only a few centimeters fall :Amore:

St. John's airport apparently reporting snow right now. Nothing where I live right now. Guessing nothing downtown where SHH lives as well.
