I think sales have gone well, but there arent any official numbers from what I've seen. The sales gallery on social media always seems lively. Hopefully they can fix their permitting and go vertical soon.

I believe it will still happen, but will require extensive time and revision. I don't know if the permit flagged refers to wind problems as it's pretty general. It does show that Miami takes permit violations and safety very seriously, which is always a positive. But hopefully this moves forward.. would be a bummer.

That's from nearly over a year ago. Piling was continuing in the first half of 2023, so that information appears to be out of date.

There are no finalized construction permits for this tower, and it's listed on a hold work order. No permits were pulled either. Not much people knew it began to stall late last year, but it's indicative from the lack of updates from nov-march on this page. I wish I was wrong, but the tower broke ground in June of 2022 with drilling beginning around Aug of 2022. Regardless, the site has no activity by recent photos.

Okan Tower was put on a stop work order on Nov 21, 2022 according to iBuild.

There are two foilio violations issued on Nov 23, 2022.

None of this sounds good but I at least hope Waldorf goes through as well as One Brickell.

If those two new tallests got built it would make up for it.

The construction permit violations are still not resolved. But, in the meantime there has been a permit filed one month ago for additions and remodeling, but the permit is incomplete.

Also, their Instagram is still active.

It'll be a while until the site is up and running again.. probably in 2024 we should see progress again.

EDIT: A crane is now on site.

Back up, permit violations were fixed when a Phased Permit was filed on October 04, 2023 and accepted on October 12.



It took about a year from the original folio violation on Nov 23, 2022 to get things back on track but it's all a go now.

Great I hope it’s a go! Hard to believe Miami has been building supertall 400 plus foot towers since 2003. I have been there since 1970-2011 that time downtown was much smaller back then before 2000. Now it is crazy, fastest growing building boom 3rd most skyline behind New York and Chicago! Wow

I'm pretty sure that by 2030 or 2040 at the latest, that Miami will surpass Chicago in having the second tallest skyline behind only NY, just due to the vast number of lots that are still in Miami plus the cheap value of land in Miami in comparison to NY and Chicago, as those cities are already built for the most part!!!

If we're counting North America - which we probably should - Toronto is going to move past Chicago before 2030. So Miami would be 3rd then.

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...st_skyscrapers measuring a skyscraper at 150m - current count

New York - 317
Chicago - 137
Toronto - 90
Miami - 61

U/C
NYC - 14
Chicago < 10 (like 2?)
Toronto - 23
Miami - 13

Toronto is only 24 back if you include u/c. It will take Miami a little while...

Something unexpected but for the first time in years I believe... an American city is tied with NYC for the amount of skyscrapers U/C!

Miami and NYC have 14 U/C.




But yeah like BrickellBased mentioned Miami needs a lot of U/C like Toronto, at least 30 U/C per construction cycle to overtake Chicago imo. But really numbers shouldn't be a goal, Miami should have extensive rail like Chicago and aim to build around those rail corridors with dense housing.

Also this doesn't consider if Chicago has another building boom, which it most likely will.. well because it's Chicago!
