Exposure Home on Commercial is closing, it may be closed now, last time I passed a couple of weeks ago it said it had 36 days left. I think their lease is expiring, but nothing to confirm that on their website.

London Drugs Granville & Georgia has paper bags at the self check-outs.

2nd floor of Walmart at Metropolis remains has been closed for a week now due to this incident. Affected departments include the pharmacy, clothing and electronic sections. There is no word on when the cleanup and repair will be completed.
As mentioned by @metrotowner, that's millions in lost revenue.

Loblaw is exploring a new restaurant concept at its Maple Leaf Gardens Loblaws in Toronto with plans to expand to more Loblaws stores across the country. The pilot is in partnership with Globol, a restaurant takeout and delivery concept that specializes in signature cultural dishes from around the world. The offerings are $12 bowls inspired by international street food legends. The expansion will include grab-and-go options and a catering service.

Another pointless cash grab in the name of "the environment". Recycling through Return-It is way too cumbersome for most people to take use if. In Finland every grocery store has a fully automated bottle and tin can recycling devices that will credit you the deposit on the spot. Way more practical and as a result the recycling rate is extremely high.

until covid, all grocery stores here took back bottles. In Oregon they have machines in the parking lots that do it for you.

I saw some machine-type-looking thing here at the RCSS in North Van, but it's not easy to use, you need to download an app, and then enter codes and use special bags specific to the machine, it's a waste of time and effort. But we make the monthly trek to a stinky sticky return it centre to get back a twonie.

Yeah, but the manual process of doing so was never worth my time for few coins. I would love to return recyclable items to a store but driving separately to a Return-It location is a no-go for something like bottles.

If you're referring to the Return-It Express bin, that's the program run by the bottle recycling people. There are a few of them on the North Shore. It actually works quite well; you don't need special bags, just standard 75L clear plastic garbage bags that you can get at many stores. The code is just your personal code to allow you to access the machine; just print the stickers at the machine, slap them on the bags, and check the app in a week or two to transfer your deposit credits to your bank. No sorting, no return centre, etc.

We really don't drink much of anything in returnable bottles anyway, so the need isn't that great. Don't drink milk either.

Most condos have a separate bin for anything that has a deposit attached. A company picks them up and the condo building gets a cut. Pretty effective for the lazy.

Assuming that residents care or know that deposits even exist.
We have the deposit bottle bins and I ofte see lots of deposit bottles in the regular recycling bins.

Yeah it doesn't always work. Then you get binners crawling in them on recycle/garbage day. They'll make it to their final home.

I noticed that the former Joe Fresh store on Granville St. downtown has Dollarama paper on the windows.
That's really close to the huge Seymour store.
Might the Seymour store be closing?

Gardenworks is opening a new location in Coquitlam, it will be next to the Eagle Ridge GM on Lougheed. Another article I read about it said they are also looking for a location to open a store in North Vancouver.
