Was that just another model that happened to be in behind?

Yes, with the SkyTrain guideway carefully hiding the gap.

Yes, that's correct. Sorry for unintentionally misleading everyone! Really though, can't we just blame Translink as its the guideways fault for blocking the space between?

The model in the background is for the DP version of 725-747 SE Marine Drive. As soon as I get time to look through my photos, I'll post them in the General Vancouver thread.

Would actually be really nice if that corner where Tim Horton's is right now is redeveloped with a tall tower sitting there, as per the "unintentional model shot".

I wonder if it's the old Telus building crane finally coming down. I'll go take a look.

The permit is for 701 West Georgia so that seems doubtful.

Right, it's not the old Telus building. My guess is that they are lifting something big off of or onto 701 West Georgia tomorrow.

Georgia Crane Lift

My photos - Jan 27, 2018

About 5pm

About 8pm

One has to give the traffic police serious credit. It's amazing to see the patience they have in dealing with people who are acting unintelligent for the road conditions.

Yup - a couple of big HVAC units going to the top of 701 West Georgia.
You can see them sitting in the street.
We got a notice at work last week.

Had been pushing the City to have waterfront food and beverage and large retail podiums for years (like what you see at Southbank Melbourne or Canary Wharf London), and looks like this is really happening at the Northeast Falsecreek Concord Pacific lands. Look at the "fly-through" video attached in the article: it looks very promising. The failure of OV's commercial centre is finally making the City realize that they have to go big, or go bust.

I won't be surprised that Concord had already courted Urban Fare to open in this area. The business is, after all, the developer's first large-format market customer in Yaletown: the neighbourhood that propelled Concord to its current status.

Not sure if this was already reported here. Fresh from their Langara West debacle, Vivagrande is proposing a 22 story tower at Davie and Nicola:

Buyers, write in a hefty cancellation penalty before you make that pre-sale offer!
