I know I've posted this view several times... but never with a snowboarder in mid-air going down the cliffs over Mission.

^love those super-zooms of condos and snowcaps.

Part of the often forgotten southern top of bank skyline of Edmonton along Saskatchewan Drive.

^ It isn't often that a city gets an entirely new skyline view like Saskatoon just did... it looks great.

The view approaching downtown from that bridge is completely transformed. Hope Saskatoon gets a few more taller towers.

River Landing in Saskatoon and the Ice District in Edmonton have had major, instant impacts on the respective skylines after years of stagnation.

In most other cities, growth has been more gradual (for example TO, the City is nearly unrecognizable between 2000 and 2020, but change has been less obvious year over year).

Canadian Cities are in the midst of a skyline revival not seen since the 60s and 70s.

Toronto looks like one of those tough as nails blue collar cities in that video. I suppose that's what Toronto was up until very recently so it makes sense. It's still incredibly jarring though.

What intrigues me is how Toronto will re-work all those 'high streets' like King, Queen, Dundas, College, St. Clair, Eglinton, Bathurst, Mount Pleasant, Danforth, etc. Every single one of them is a ramshackle mess, vinyl siding, overhead wiring, narrow concrete sidewalks, with decades of ugly building additions, etc. There are literally 100s of km of street that need to be re-built.

I would add Kelowna to that club that has had a sudden major change to its skyline.

That video was breathtaking, the closeness of the shots is unreal. Yes I suppose the drone-flying was aggressive but I think that person for doing it! It is great to get such views to show not the skyline, but the urban core itself. It shows how many different layers and depth there is, when not just looking at a certain viewpoint and only noticing one or a couple tall buildings.

That is quite the impact as well. I was in Kelowna September 2019, and at the time it felt very suburban, but these new towers (which were early stages u/c at the time) gives a new perspective.

I would love to see a mini-series based on this.

Indeed and likely the in the top three of greatest change come Jan 2031.

Hamilton and Ottawa in the mix for the other two.
