Any idea if they are putting in a street to the north of Aqua? in this sketch it looks as if aqua is on a corner I know upper and lower columbus is to the west of the site but the KPMG building and fire dept. is currently to the north and there is no street between....just curious if anyone knows. Thanks
There will be a connector road which runs from Columbus Drive (between Aqua and the fire station) to Wacker Drive, just east of the the Swissotel podium.

The tower is longer than the reinforced mat. it extends to the columns in the foreground (on the right side of the photo). Likewise it extends a similar distance past the mat in the back (upper left).[/QUOTE]

This might be a total nonsensical request, but for the few of us above that are having some trouble picturing exactly the size/location/footprint of the building, is there someway someone could superimpose a rendering of the building on top of this picture?

If not, no worries, I just noticed that I was not the only one having problems visualizing how this building sits on the foundation.

Thanks all.

^^^^^Ummm....because their job is to build this building as efficiently as possible, not to present to you any easy to understand presentation

Ding ding. We have a winner!

The final footprint of the tower with the rows of columns flanking each side of the mat will be around 90'x170' or so.

I'm guessing each floor slab will cantilever just slightly beyond the columns where the black lines are drawn in?

Here's my attempt at showing the footprint of the tower, using the great photo that SolarWind shot. BTW this is the mechanical floor on 57 which has concrete outer walls.

Anchor Retail at Aqua

Very early in the marketing of the project (4/06), it was hinted by some sales folks at Magellan that the anchor tenant would be an office supply store (I believe the Office Max name had been provided for the purpose of example).

I do recall a posting by BlueStar on 1/1/07 which speculated that Bed, Bath and Beyond could be the top rent payer.

Recently I heard in a conversation with someone that I did not know, that CVS would be the anchor.

Has anyone heard any updates or aware of announcements?

Quick pick from lower columbus (2nd) as I was walking by the site, had to hold the camera up over a green fence.

I'm sure others here remember this - even earlier than marketing of Aqua (I want to say late 04/early 05), Magellan was talking with Target. I think it's too bad they couldn't work a smaller urban store concept into the site - I would have probably stopped in twice a week or so...

Also, speaking of LSE retail, crews are finally moving dirt on the site of the Treasure Island-anchored Village Market...

Yeah you must have been an early buyer. You're in the Lancaster, if I'm not mistaken?
You've got a fantastic angle there for Aqua's construction. Thanks for the photos, and keep up the good work!

wait a second... those pictures in post 1478, is that still part of the aqua site? I can't make sense of it compared to the site plan diagram

I might be stupid, but someone want to try to explain that to me?

Edit: Oh, I think I understand. its actually not part of the aqua site, and is the southeastern corner of the park... I thought it was the northeastern corner. silly me
