I believe it was a mostly covered patio restaurant.

Yes, I think it would need to be "rainproofed" somehow. But surely it can be done. The Strathcona Hotel in Victoria (yes, less rain, I know) has a rooftop restaurant, as did once the Park Plaza in Toronto. (don't know if it still has, but it was an exciting feeling being up on a roof in midtown Toronto)

Anyway, it's a non-starter, so I guess this is where the thread closes.

It was in Coal Harbour or Yaletown, no?

Well it is private property after all. I'm sure the one of the last things the owners of those condos want is to have a tourist draw taking up the same space in which to enjoy the few outdoor amenities of their property.

Great photos Metro-One. It's definitely looking good to my eyes in those shots, and that second shot makes it look gigantic! The window wall portion turned out well and the spandrel end caps for the floor slabs really do help give it a more sleek appearance than if the window wall were to have sat on slab extensions. The full height white spandrel panels on the balconies look just fine to me and that's even before the balcony railings are added. I'm looking forward to seeing how the remainder of the glazing comes together and how it meets the sky.

It was a rooftop patio in Yaletown -- OPUS Hotel on Davie/Hamilton.

Shot down by the NIMBYs.

Meanwhile, the next year the Keg managed to get a rooftop restaurant through without a peep. No immediately adjacent condos - the closest ones are at Yaletown Park half block away.

Yes, that's the realistic way of looking at it, and you're right.

Pics by me today:

The cables are up on the next balcony down and you can see the collars on the columns from which the cables will attach for the next few balconies down.

Hoarding is down around the main entrance on Georgia, Hawksworth lettering on the windows. Cant be far off now. Any official opening announced? I would think no more than a week away??

Also, anyone know what he scaffolding up around the office podium entrance is for? It went up last week.

Officedweller.

I think the cables are of interest as well. They do cheapen the design a tad.

I hope you continue your excellent work providing insight and photos.
