Fascinating how tall buildings like MHP and True North aren't necessarily prominent in the Winnipeg skyline. Downtown Winnipeg's spread out nature compared to the more clustered cores in other cities in quite unique.

Funny thing about MHP is that no expense was spared in constructing the building itself... it is truly impressive. But when it came to décor, that's where savings were realized. Apparently they just trucked over loads of furniture from their old head office.

An acquaintance of mine who works for Hydro gave me a tour of the building when it was first built, and it was kind of jarring to see tired looking 70s-era tables and chairs sitting in the otherwise super-sleek common areas. That was a while ago, hopefully they've replaced that old stuff by now.

That one of River Landing is fucking excellent. It looks like what the city would look like if Chrisjen Avasarala went there in The Expanse (350 years from now).

I love this pic... I think it may be the first time I've seen River Landing from a city perspective as compared to looking at it from across the river as most photos posted here show it. It looks awesome looming over the downtown area like that.

One of my favourite effects of River Landing on the downtown is the shorter East Tower creating a terminated vista at the foot of 3rd Avenue. That pic somewhat conveys it but it's more pronounced at street level. It adds a new layer and level of depth that wasn't there before. The impact that a single building can have.

I love the Montreal shots showing all of that low-rise density.
