I was in London a few months back and was impressed with the supertalls going up there as well. They do a good job with street presence. Pretty striking designs as well.

Check out this interesting article about the slender supertalls going up near the park in NYC. The rising properties values in Atlanta will likely push towers much higher.
Discuss.

From what I've read a lot of the demand for these ultra tall residential towers comes from the influx of foreign buyers -- is Atlanta a big market for these folks?

New airport hotel.

Atlanta-based Grove Street Partners recently closed on its financing for the 204-room Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel. The Renaissance hotel will feature 6,500 square feet of meeting space, including a more than 3,000-square-foot ballroom. It will also have a restaurant and bar. A groundbreaking ceremony is set for Oct. 14. It’s expected to finish construction in March 2017.

The two parking lots on 14th between Spring and West Peachtree are both empty today. Does this mean the 22 14th Street project is imminent?

There were two crane sections on oversized trucks parks on the side of the connector (northbound) between North Avenue and 10th street. I can only imagine which project they might be heading to!

Looks like Broadstone Terraces is finally close to finishing site work so there may be another one there soon (if they plan to have one).

The Spring St. entrance to the parking lot where AMLI Arts Center is going is permanently closed... of course the lot for that Hines office building on 17th has been closed for months, so who knows what that means

Does London even have a supertall? Maybe one...I don't think there are any others under construction, so I assume you're talking about regular high rises.

true London only has one supertall that was completed in 2013 but they do have five 500 - 700+ footers going up

Arquitectonica is a design firm the developer has plenty of large scale projects under their belt. but as far as similarly scaled things they have worked on the Icon Brickell comes to mind. That being said its been quite a while since we have herd anything so id put it in the probably not going to happen bin.

Icon Brickell is residential. 98 14th was to be office. I agree, it's dead.

The original 98 14th scheme by Arquitectonica was mostly residential, not office. It may very well be dead, but it was not an office proppsal.

I doubt it's dead since they purchased the land, but it may still be in planning which could mean changes to fit whatever the new market looks like. It wasn't supposed to be completed until something like 2020 so I'm not sure you could even call it delayed yet...
