Restoration Hardware does have a great rooftop with sweeping views. Of course, that view north will be a bit different after the Loudermilk office project. The Buckhead Village is changing quickly!

Can't wait to see this parking lot disappear. I hope the Hampton Inns project is soon to follow.

Right! With the addition of these two towers, plus the extension of 15th Street, this intersection will feel drastically improved.

What is the delay with the Hampton? Any updates?

That has been on the possible project/hotel list for nearly 8 years. I will believe it when they start to tear down the derelict building that is on the site. Until then, don't make any overnight reservations.

Related to delays, perhaps we on SP should create something like the Dewberry Delay Award, to give annually to the most egregious delays of promissory tall buildings. I'm sure we could all come up with a good list. I think the first award should go to the Intermodal terminal at the Gulch.

Buckhead park price tag: $150 million.

The 9 acre park over the busy freeway and the Buckhead MARTA station is in the conceptual stages, but the Buckhead Community Improvement District plans to issue requests for proposals next month for a study. We’re looking for teams that can take this from a concept to the point where we have a much better understanding of how it can be constructed, what it would cost to construct it and what the community wants and needs in an open space.” Buckhead CID Executive Director Jim Durrett said Wednesday. The Buckhead park would likely cost more than $150 million, Durrett said.
Durrett expects the project, if the board opts to go forward, will likely require private and public money in addition to CID funds.

The Hampton Inn & Suites was proposed this past January and the developer, North Point Hospitality Group Inc, has been before the DRC twice.

Someone needs to "rhymes with shit" $150 Million to make this happen. This unequivocally is the most important project in Buckhead's pipeline.

Buckhead Park

Agreed - this, if realized, would be a transformative project and give the Buckhead area a real town center. Parks can do that - look what Piedmont Park has meant to Midtown and Centennial park for Downtown. Even the small park in the middle of Atlantic Station adds a definitive extra quality to that development.

Modera Buckhead Village - Under Construction???

I had to drive back to Restoration Hardware today to pick out a few things and noticed the Exxon where the proposed Modera Buckhead Village is and I noticed there is a fence around the property and they had already started demolition. This wasn't there Monday when I took the pictures.

GA-Peanuts, can you check and see where this project is in the zoning process? Thanks Dude!

I don't think that Exxon is part of the development, but no demo permits were ever filed for the Exxon that I could find in Accela. I think that the Modera project is only taking out the building with Promove and the salon and the parking lots surrounding it. As far as it looks on google maps compared to the site plan. The Chinese Buffet and Exxon I think were to be replaced by that other development a while ago designed by Cooper Carry that someone mentioned fell through. I think it was Terwilliger-Pappas who was developer for that.

edit: found a render for that development:

Agreed! It would give Buckhead its 'there'. Really like to see this happen.

Turner Field redevelopment RFP going out by the end of October.

Seeking a developer that can complete all the redevelopment within five years (shooting for before this economic cycle ends).

150 million is CHEAP for the buckhead 400 park. This needs to happen more than any project in the pipeline right now. It would transform the area. I would donate money to make it happen. It apparently has the support of several big business players in buckhead, some of which owned or own the air rights based on the construction of 400. The businesses in buckhead have a real case for making this happen as it will bring people in droves to central buckhead. Being on top of the Marta station, creating an iconic "square" and parks pace where there is now a highway, and connecting with the path project ( connect 400 ). It is just too perfect. Don't forget the new office / residential project being built just both of the Sovereign which will eliminate another parking lot and likely be an iconic building and will connect directly to this park. They might need to rethink the location of their parking deck hah

Full crane is up at the 1010 W. Peachtree property.

Also, is it just me, or is the Modera crane ... like, the exact same crane that was there before? Maybe the first crane was just defective?

The Exxon and China Buffet site is the former 92 West Paces developer- Preserve Properties LLC.
