Talking about tower cranes I just looked out my office window and it looks like the first truck of parts arrived. Looks like it could be the base frame and power supply panel. Over the last two days Manitoba Hydro was installing the feeder lines and a transformer to the site for heavy duty power.

Yes, that it was I was saying. If tower 2 is to be mostly condos. Since there's already a glut on the market, the tower could not go ahead right away. Like Cyro said, TN stated a 2019 opening, so maybe this is all for not.

Oh okay. Down in the hole? There have been vac tucks and other people doing stuff down there. Wasn't quite sure what they were up to. But vac tucks are usually there for utilities, so would make sense.

No, it's the sidewalk level next to the west of the water decanting tanks.

I guess the base plates came in early as I see that they have been moved into the compound where the old hotel was located.

Right now there is a vac truck sucking out the solids from the decanting tanks. Not sure if the slurry goes to Brady or if there is some private land that Vac-All puts it on? Maybe its going with the rest of the spoil that was excavated out of the pit.

^^^^ Or maybe there will be lots of excitement and interest in living at TNS? While there could be a glut of condos on the market, this definitely a very unique location which could generate interest.

Yup, could be. I'm, just being excited, thinking about the project. Haven't heard anything on tower 2, so speculating a bit IF it didn't go ahead. IF, being big capital letters. haha

I think what carlos was saying is, someday when they start construction on tower 2, would it be an issue to have the crane in operation right beside an open skywalk

Construction site looks a bit different now. Crews moved everything to the SE corner, where they're done all the foundation work. Drill rig shacks are on blocks up the ramp.

The drill shacks must have been moved on Saturday as there were still in the pit when I left work at midnight Friday.

they will have to move them out of the way first thing on Monday as they will be blocking the fuel truck that comes in the morning to fill up all the cranes and tracked drills.

That's the way it sounds. I'll just assume the residential is going ahead. They've never said it wouldn't, stated phase two tower timeline is opening 2019 and now two towers cranes basically confirmed (from a real estate agent).

the bases for the tower cranes came in a few weeks ago and are being stored on the old Beachcomber lot right now.

Manitoba Hydro was in installing a transformer on the Graham and Carlton sidewalk area over the last two weeks which I assume is to provide high voltate power to the cranes as the rest of the site already has 120v power coming from where the parking attendant shack was located.
