2. How much did the tunnel and bridge portion cost, and is there any other infrastructure like this incorporated in the project - anything else underground or elevated?

4. What was the cost of the vehicles?

Kinda tough questions to answer, but if somebody knows, it would be appreciated.
Good thing Winnipegs transit nerd see's this!

1. entirely from scratch, on CN land.

2. i honestly forget , tunnel and osborne station (bridge) was major though...

3. just the CN right-of-way, that was all haha

4. 15 million for 30 NFI D40LFRs

I think it's more like a median with photoshop... probably part of the 401 widening happening below the bridge that is either on or very close to,.

The Mississauga Busway looks awesome. They should have just built the LRT one time.

Thankfully with the ROW in place all they have to do is lay the track and buy the cars when they are ready.

Would of been better to bury the line under the street. The bridge appears too narrow for a twin sets which is plain stupid.

Cross-posted with the Hurontario LRT thread.

All the documents:
http://lrt-mississauga.brampton.ca/EN/Public-Consultation/Pages/Welcome.aspx

The display panels:
http://lrt-mississauga.brampton.ca/EN/Pu...isplay_Boards_PIC1_June%2025_26_2012.pdf

This is the current status of the Hurontario LRT.

Some highlights:
- 28 stops, 850 m average stop spacing, 44-minute journey from end-to-end.
- distinguished LRT from streetcars
- highlighted the disadvantage of Waterloo Region's LRT-BRT mix.
- Brampton's Zum Route 502 sees 7,500 riders a day
- MiWay's switch from 202 to 103 boosted ridership by 24% to 4,550 riders a day. Ergo, Hurontario corridor within Mississauga alone must be carrying more than 30,000 riders a day.
- now removed the one-way loop at Downtown Brampton, will run two-way along Main Street instead.
- most platforms will see entrances at both ends, and some stations within Mississauga will cover two streets (ex. Cooksville GO Stop will have exits at BOTH John Street and Hillcrest Avenue, northbound Dundas LRT Station will have exits at BOTH Dundas Street and Agnes Street).
- Because of that, there will be mid-block stoplights. This will definitely catch drivers by surprise when the LRt undergoes construction.
- looks like the ENTIRE corridor, including the narrow ones, will get dedicated LRT lanes (i.e. the Port Credit, Main Street South, and Living Arts Drive segment will be reduced to just one lane each),
- houses fronting Hurontario will have to undergo RIRO (right-in, right-out) system to access their houses.
- Contemplating between transit mall or one lane per direction at Downtown Brampton. Regardless of the result, on-street parking along Main will be taken away.

There is a rumour that Brampton, despite their aggressiveness in bus transit, wants to cut the LRT to just Steeles, and if it's true, that's BAD NEWS. This is becoming more of a Mississauga project than a Peel project.

It's the 403 that is under construction for the Mississauga Transitway, since they are rebuilding Hurontario/Sherwoodtowne intersection with an overpass. He just put an LRT vehicle at the median to visualize it, but in the proposals, it will not cross the 403 along Hurontario though, but along an "extended" City Centre Drive.

There is enough space for both the LRT underneath the bridge and to double track the Stouffville GO line above it.

Calgary has never had underground stations dude, even to this day it only has one under construction. Since the beginning of Edmonton's LRT in the 70s there have been 6 underground stations. Actually, before the Canada line was built, Edmonton had twice as many underground stations as Vancouver even.

Yeah, but the ALRV's only run on Queen Street - Bathurst.

These will run on every streetcar line throughout the city.

Basically doubling the capacity of the downtown streetcar lines.

That is soooo awesome Toronto can definitely use them! and that transit plan looks fantastic. I love the idea of the Don Mills express subway line, the Sheppard West subway, and the Finch West LRT.

Love that the Eglington Crosstown is already well under construction.

Too bad we won't be getting any of that until 2018.. (the first phase of the finch LRT) but yes, it will be amazing to see the streetcars out!

The amazing part is that Toronto is currently receiving over $13 billion in transit development, and that is without the one city plan! We will be getting 19km of subway by 2020 as well! (probably more if one city moves ahead)
