I wish they'd do something with that retail space on Canal, would benefit the area. Either way always nice to see renovation

Planned New Orleans convention center hotel would not qualify for tax exemption

https://www.theadvocate.com/new_orle...e3e3d8cc2.html

Erroll Williams, the Orleans Parish tax assessor, is complicating plans for a hotel that officials of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center want to build with tens of millions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies.

Williams told Convention Center officials during a meeting last month that he doesn’t see how the hotel would be exempt from paying property taxes — as the officials are seeking under a novel financing scheme.

“If the hotel is financed by someone else, I’d be hard-pressed to say it was exempt,” he said he told the officials, reiterating a view he publicly expressed last year. “I find it hard to believe that they don’t want to pay their fair share of taxes.”

If they want tax money to build the hotel, maybe they should pay tax money just like all the hotels against whom they're competing.

Parkway Apartments

Looks like Parkway Apartments launched their real website with the online leasing up.
www.ParkwayNola.com

The renderings look good. Per the website the finishes look better than anything in that market....choosing accent wall colors, LED mirrors, italian cabinets, generator outlets, pool, gazebos, and a dog park.

This should be a good fit in the middle of the city and across from Xavier.

Anyone have any current pictures?

I still do not understand how all of those parking lots around there haven't been developed. That's probably the most underdeveloped prime real estate in the city.
