Hi there --
I'm a South Carolina journalist writing about a contributor to the SC Negro Writers Project, a branch of the Federal Writers' Branch, and understand from her granddaughter that the writer and her husband moved to NYC in the early 1930s so he could
oversee masons working on the Empire State Building.
Can anyone here confirm that Clarence Middleton held that role? I understand from the Empire State Building archives at Columbia University that employment records don't survive in any organized fashion, so hoping someone here might be able to help.
Thank you!
