Looks like The Tipsy Tomato will be looking for a new home…..although not for a few years from the sound of it. The first building is going where the car wash is.
Steve Walton had the Tipsy up for sale a few months ago - not sure if it was bought or if it was taken down.

It was never one of my favourites but it will be sad if it shuts down or leaves the neighbourhood. We certainly need housing but we need a good variety of neighbourhood amenities and businesses to go along with those housing units too.

^ Interesting It was going to be some kind of Mexican place wasn't it? Jose Adair?
Of zero interest to me but hope it does well. Anything that can drive traffic back to the Uptown is a plus.

That's right, the restaurant is called Abuelitas and it is Adair as chef with the interior design by ACRE Architects. Looks phenomenal from what I've seen on Instagram, I'm excited to go check it out.

The mayor has shared this picture of the Retail Drive realignment project. She said the contract was approved.

12 months to realign a block, and they're still leaving that stupid berm on Ashburn Lake instead of having a short left-turn lane? Good lord.

The cruise ship season has now ended. A reported 230,000 passengers and crew have visited the city. An increase compared to last year’s 172,193. The 2025 season starts on April 28th.

Proposed public hearing date on January 13th, 2025 for 125 Gault Road.

This is to facilitate the development of a portion of the property into a multi-building, multi-unit residential development.

Also, 50 pages of citizen letters submitted regarding Irving's parking lot plan at Wolastoq Park.

Some of my favourites: "move the entire mill." "people will jump off the pedestrian overpass." "this is sacred land." "this is ecologically significant." "they should have repurposed the Simms factory into a parking garage." "what city has smoke stacks in it in 2024?" so melodramatic.

Meanwhile these same people will drive to Lancaster Mall or out east and park in a sea of pavement
