Speaking of fall colours... North is on the right. Ottawa River in the middle, Gatineau River on the right, Rideau River on the left, Gatineau Park on the upper, right.

Same image I posted earlier, but re-oriented north-south, with improved colour:

Lots of action in that shot, love it.

Also that shot of Ottawa from the ISS is great!

Hull, with Tunney's an Westboro in the background, across the Ottawa River.

Kind of reminds me of Downtown Dartmouth, NS.

How's the ground level experience in downtown Hull? It's looking kinda grim from that aerial.

Pretty shitty, sadly.

I visited a month ago and it was not a positive urban experience. It didn't help that my partner is from Europe.

There's actually an instagram page about how brutal Hull is, it's called "WhatTheHull"

So dystopian it could be a good album cover.

Re: Europe and Rico's comment, the parts of Europe built during this era surely rival and sometimes exceed Hull for the sheer brutality of their misguided mid-century optimism. Europe is very lucky that more of its pre-20th century areas were not destroyed, because in terms of where peoples' heads were for the past 100 years, it's not good. The wedding cakes were a product of a different people, and their world was dead by 1918.
