Central Library Branch moving into new, temporary location.
The library board has approved an interim move to 400 City Hall Square.
This move is intended to provide a more stable and secure environment while the board continues to look for a permanent home for the branch.

Key land secured for Windsor national urban park and moves closer to reality including the acquisition of the raceway land.

Does it mean anything for the raceway? Not being a dick... just that my grandfather (who lived in Riverside) worked there while he was retired and still able-bodied.

I haven't been to Windsor for a drive/walk-about in a long time. Pre-covid for sure, but probably at least 10 years now.

The bulk of the former Windsor Raceway lands, as seen in the picture above, will remain unchanged and are still in private hands as far as I know. I remember that the possibility of housing was floated as being built there long ago but so far, nothing.

The land that sold is the 34.75 acres along Matchett, as pictured. I believe this was the parcel that Coco Paving wanted to build a big box development on but they got a lot of push back against it and the proposal died.

Thank you.

I imagine that if the new bridge is a success (and remains open) it'll increase the value of land in that part of the city, and therefore the propensity to sell. Hopefully the raceway remains as a complementary land use.
