CBC finally updated their HNIC Vancouver skyline shots - we'll probably be seeing these for the next decade. There's also a great new panning shot of the Coal Harbour skyline that follows a float plane landing, taken days before the Olympics.

My photos (well, screenshots).

I don't think us common non-socially aware people can comprehend it. So, don't bother.

*ahem*

POLICE STATE! POLICE STATE!

i wonder what all those people are doing now? i mean, the Olympics gave them so much to do. so many posters to design and print, t-shirts to be made, what balaclava to wear....

Now what? Life must be lonely.

it just occurred to me that Peta never came here with their seal brouhaha.
i was totally expecting Pam to show up on the lawn the art gallery covered in red paint chanting "save the seals". Too bad!

on another note, i finally set-up a flickr page. nothing special - just some pictures of Vancouver and some other places i've been to and have a home. http://www.flickr.com/photos/28833744@N00/

They are against police telling them what to do, simply, they want to be the police telling others what to do!

That is the whole ironic thing about these protesters, is they say they are against a police state yet the goal of many of their protests were to stop those going to game events or venues, essentially, to stop the free choice of others!

In the end, the protesters became the militia forces! That is what I find so funny, but they will never see it that way...

During the Olympics I was never once harassed by police, but I was harassed by protesters.

Granville Street about a week ago, and today
POSTED March 11, 2010 BY Bob Kronbauer

I’m not entirely sure of the source of this photo and normally I wouldn’t just grab something off of the internet and paste it onto our blog but this image must be shared. It’s nice having the streets back but those days of madness were a lot of fun, weren’t they?

I was alerted to it’s existence by The Peak, and the link to the photo is http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-...93710875_581315875_4172162_1824896_n.jpg … if you know exactly where it came from please comment below so we can give proper credit.

Not just one - there were 2 of them - one sponsored by Air Canada and the other sponsored by Canadian Pacific. The Air Canada one would have been at the other end of the fairgrounds.

Didn't the PNE also have a skyride across its site way way back?

It sure did, but it was more like a chairlift.

Remember the giant yellow slide with the burlap sacks?
