The Wasatch Front's sprawling CSA size is nothing to sneeze at, (Unless of course, you are susceptible to pollution sickness.).The CSA is currently ranked 23'rd largest in the nation. SLC and it's downtown are inadequately puny for the CSA size. Goes back to Comrade correctly pointing out the fact that the locals are still mired in the backwoods, or suburban sprawl mindset. To call Salt Lake City 'Mega' is laughable at best in my opinion. I think the article may have been alluding to the fact that the surrounding area has a burgeoning and influential tech center. It has a relatively educated workforce with three universities nearby. Utah has a legitimate shot. Not a big one, but a shot to get the campus. If the area were to get it, the site of the new campus would be Draper... Of all places. Rest assured that with the prevailing political morass existing between SLC and the state, Draper would get the nod. The decision would be moronic and detrimental to the capital city. Can't expect much. This is Utah after all. My guess is Amazon goes to Austin, Denver, or Houston.

Tom Dolan is out as mayor of Sandy after serving 24 years. Lost his reelection bid to a guy who thinks Sandy has too much high-density housing.

Yeah. Okay.

Glad they are doing something with it... I was a bit worried when a saw a fence 2 inches in front of the building.

I must say I'm not particulerly thrilled with it though. I would have like to see most of the street facing ground floor as retail/food... at least they are doing something with it I guess. it just seems like a little more retail would be a nice mix for that area... already a lot of apartments there.

Yeah. Okay.

Sandy too much high density housing, we'll take more of the high density housing in SLC that Sandy doesn't want... if only SLC had good mayoral developmental and planning leadership to push for something beyond the status quo stick built apartment complexes.

Off street parking survey Salt Lake City

An issue on which Salt Lake City residents here are likely to have an opinion...

Snapchat is opening an office in Utah. Rumor is they will be in Lehi, but I'd love to see SLC get a big name tech company like Snap downtown, even if its just 50 employees.

Speaking of big names downtown does anyone know where EA moved their offices? I quite liked seeing their logo on the corner of 3rd and State.

They closed the SLC offices after 25 years back in April.

Draper Site for Amazon

http://http://dailyutahchronicle.com/2017/11/09/coleman-amazon-hq2-fall-utah-bezos/
This article hints that the our Politian's have the Draper Site as the top pick for the Amazon HQ2.

If the Draper site does happen to be chosen for Amazon HQ2 we will be seeing a huge sprawl mess in the South West part of the valley and in northern Utah Valley in Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain. It is a good location as far as getting the talent pool, but there is nothing there, no entertainment no restaurants no urbanity. It will be a bottleneck in the state with terrible traffic and unsustainable development. Does our state not see the consequences of urban sprawl on the quality of life in the Wasatch Front?

Draper, eh. Well, Utah's shot for Amazon HQ2 is done.
