I doubt it's happening in the next 2-3 years by the amount of money going into the project. After 2030 seems a more likely bet.

When does translink usually release the station specific ridership/boarding numbers?

I wonder what happened to the 5 that was supposed to pick me up around 0530 at Robson and Cardero. Waited around for the next one that never came and took the bus on West Georgia. Almost made me late for work. Nothing in the alerts

You'll want to get an app. Bus schedules are more like suggestions, especially in heavy traffic.

I was using google maps actually

Also, it was 0530, as in 530 AM

Like I said, suggestions. You'll want an app that tracks the bus in real time.

Is there a way to give on-the-ground feedback as to whether or not the bus arrived on time or at all?

Just to clarify for the OP. All apps have scheduled time schedules but then they will supplement them with the real time data. It's pretty pointless to bother contacting them.

Usually these early morning no show buses are the result of no show drivers. If you contract Translink they'll tell you it's because of a mechanical issue with the bus. This is BS cause obviously they have spare buses at that time of the day.

Ron.

I see Waterfront station is closed today thanks to a “police incident”. Anyone know what, some crazy going on a tear again?

Yikes! I'm guessing the issue is in the main station area, since all three lines are shut down. Under what circumstances would a full shut down be deemed appropriate?

A bomb threat was phoned in. It was a false alarm, and the station has reopened.

So, are we expecting Translink to put out their Performance Review (TSPR) any time soon? I thought it usually was released in April each year.

An automated announcement that is absolutely needed on Canada line stations is one reminding people to keep their bikes in the designated bike area of the trains. The times I've seen bikes on the train, the bike area was available for use. One guy was even sitting on the seats across from the bike area and just holding onto his bike.

From the Buzzer Blog article on it:
Quote:
More people in Metro Vancouver are choosing transit over driving as their primary option to get around, according to new data from TransLink. In 2024, there were 7.7 million more trips on transit, an increase of more than three per cent over 2023, outpacing a one per cent increase in driving across the region.

“As Metro Vancouver continues to grow, more people are turning to transit instead of driving which is a reflection of our system’s reliability,” says TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn. “Our 2025 Investment Plan is key to keeping this momentum going and meeting the demand of a growing region.”

...
Also for the doomsayers (and people who think the CoV is the center of the universe...
Quote:
Ridership south of the Fraser (Surrey, North Delta, White Rock, the City of Langley, and the Township of Langley) grew by 11.4 per cent, which was more than anywhere else in Metro Vancouver.

South of the Fraser River faced significant overcrowding
* New service from the R6 RapidBus and additional bus service approved in the 2024 Investment Plan helped ease pressure.
* The 2025 Investment Plan will further expand service south of the Fraser by adding or upgrading seven routes and increasing service on 25 other routes.
