Yeah I think those who shit on him for bringing it up owe him a bit of an apology. A large percentage of the stuff talked about on here is rumor based on hearsay. What he'd said was no different, he just didn't have a facebook or city all memo to prove it (which both wind up being inaccurate or falling through anyway, looking at you Five Guys!)

Not knowing the full situation here... but unless he files for bankruptcy or insolvency I'm sure he's required by law to pay the employees for time worked.

I saw a sign there last week still saying Franchise Opportunity for Robins and 241, so hopefully they've finalized something. There was also a Big Cheese pickup truck in the parking lot. Seems Big Cheese has done well with their product, so if they take over at least there'll be some pizza/restaurant experience going in there. Still gonna miss Pizza Hut a little though.

I noticed that Breen’s on Elizabeth Avenue is closed, the sign on the door says that location is closed permanently

Does anyone have any news on this place? I saw it the other day. Its says opening early 2018. It is located in the plaza on Portugal Cove Rd/Newfoundland Drive.

Toslow - a speakeasy style snack bar - is opening in the old Broken Books space near Fixed.

The Northeast Avalon Times reported that a Robins Donut location has been approved for the corner of Pulpit Rock Road and Torbay Rd. I only assume a 241 Pizza will be included.

There had been, back in the winter, a Robin's Coming Soon sign flashing on the LED board at Jack Bryne arena for a while and then it disappeared from the screen one day.

A Robins opened in the Jack Byrne Arena over the winter. No clue if they will maintain both locations.

Pretty sure Darcy Broderick ( Shamrock City ) is the owner of this.

Not exactly sure why it is taking so long to open. The opening soon early 2018 sign, has been posted in the window since around Oct/Nov of last year.

The rate he is going, 2019 might be the opening goal.

Site clearing ( ie parking lot pavement removal) has started for the "National Chain' coffee shop on Topsail Rd at the old Home Hardware. It's located at the front of the parking lot, on Topsail Rd, between the beer store and the New World Fitness, IE directly across the street from the Tim Horton's / Jungle Jims. Could it be that the Tim's is relocating? They have no drivethrough at the current location.

That is the Tim's across the street relocating, this new one will now have a drive thru as well.
