Apologies for the derail..search here is...difficult?

Did Slate end up buying the 120 Metcalfe for 20M as was discussed in 2018? If so, is there any thread yet on what they might have proposed to do with the site?

So the current main branch library. Can't find an article confirming the sale, but yes, I believe the sale has been finalized. It was a key part of the funding for Adisoke. Grand scheme of things, $20 million is nothing, but anyway.

A thread will be created once they have a proposal for the site. Nothing up at this time.

From the Adisoke Construction Update Website

The new year is off to a busy start at the Ādisōke project site. The installation of façade steel along the exterior of the building continues to progress well, and the installation of the wooden beams and roof panelling has begun.

In the coming weeks, work on the building’s façade will continue, and the tree-like columns will continue to be installed on the fourth and fifth floors.

very excited to see this thing come together! That first image is fascinating considering it's a mix of concrete, mass timber, and steel construction. Literally all the construction methods in one

Adis are you ok,
are you ok Adis...

for me, its every time I land on this page, for the last few years.

I didn't... but now I do.
And now I'm going to listen to the Alien Ant Farm version to get a little extra oomph in my step this morning.

Great photo! I seem to remember that completion is scheduled for 2026. How is that possible as it is already being clad?

If I recall, the construction will end much earlier than that, but what will take a lot of time is the transition of the Ottawa Public Library and Library and Archives Canada books, staff, systems, etc.

PCL usually tarps using their corporate colours. It's impressive they manage to be that organized.
