I imagine that when it opens Confederation will become a hotbed of development! I also wonder what the traffic is coming from Burlington to West Harbour?

It is a bit of an industrial area, but I agree. Surely the new Confederation GO will initiate some more residential development around the WalMart etc. Then, we'll definitely see some increased riders using the GO line for heading downtown.

Correct! One Fare isn't just about GO, it's about paying one fare without having to pay again when transferring to another transit system (within a set period of time, depending on the transit system's transfer window), though GO trips will be priced as normal with local transit fares deducted.

When you use PRESTO to transfer between transit agencies, you will be charged only one fare: either your first local fare or your GO Transit fare.

UPX isn't eligible, and Milton and Halton Hills aren't part of it either (yet).

There are already two buses running that corridor, one of which is 10-minute service in rush hours. And as you can see on the map, many more to come. So I think they thought of it.

Probably should sign up for the busier msg board, but an FYI for GO commuters via Hamilton GO Centre. If the strike takes affect at midnight Thursday, do not take the GO train via HGC. You'll need to travel from West Harbour. Milton commuters will be affected as well.

After years of delays, a GO Transit station will open Oct. 27 in Stoney Creek, making for easier access to the service's Lakeshore West train route.

On Monday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Hamilton Mayor Andrea Horwath, several other local politicians and the CEO of Metrolinx announced that construction is complete on the Confederation GO Station, located near the QEW and Centennial Parkway North.

"The opening of Confederation GO Station will be a game changer for residents in East Hamilton and Stoney Creek," said Ford.

The station adds a new stop along the Lakeshore West route that runs between Union Station in downtown Toronto and Niagara Falls and will be serviced by all trains running along that route.

"This connectivity will forever change who we are in Hamilton," Horwath said. The mayor said that expanding transit options benefit the local economy as well as improve access to Hamilton's recreational offerings, like restaurants, walking trails and the waterfront.
