That picture is from just before my tome and I have no memory of that configuration. Not only does it predate the current configuration there obviously, but it seems to predate much of the street and commercial/residential development in the area.

I have a foggy memory of seeing an unprotected wooden platform further toward Mumford Rd along the Simpson's parking lot. Whether it was on the east side or west side of the line I cannot remember.
