Thanks.

In other downtown news, the Kettle of Fish building at Hornby & Beach was mostly demolished over the long weekend -
likely in preparation for the east side of Burrard Bridge improvements.

Probably more over-priced public "art", financed by those poor souls that paid crazy prices for new condos.

Now there's one on the north plaza also. Must be a sign.

It would only be art if they left the caution tape and green tarp on it.

That's not the official site, although it contains a rendering which the official one does not. Here's the Onni one, it's been up for a couple of months. They're not in pre-sale yet as I have some clients waiting on this one. This link will expedite info from Onni as soon as they're in pre-sale.

Agreed - they look like signs.
They look like they'll be internally lit, as opposed to supports for screens (?)

But are they informational signs for the library (for events, etc.)
or signs for the commercial businesses inside?

Metro-One this one is for you... I can see the area becoming so much more vibrant and Japanesque.

It does make me smile, not going to lie.

Nice to see those two screens being replaced with newer larger ones.

Still hope to see some entirely new signs installed (anywhere on Nordstrom along Granville and London Drugs always seem to come to mind...)

I hope Telus is still going to instal the two screens they proposed on Robson.

Here's a recent pic I took to compare to the rendering of the proposed larger screens.

Man I miss the old Futureshop sign

The old Winners sign was better too.

Why are all the new signs so lacking in colour or style?

Wonder if this is utilised as was intended. Other day when I walked by the whole alley was filled with delivery vans and trucks.

Of course it's not. There's nothing there to draw people.

Nice - the lower screen will preserve views from the 3rd floor landing outside Winners.

Now if they got their act together and added screens to the backs of the monitors over the escalators for people heading DOWN the escalators,
that would be another improvement.

[QUOTE=officedweller;7721637]Nice - the lower screen will preserve views from the 3rd floor landing outside Winners.

I'm not so sure it will preserve much of a view. Except the tops of taller buildings. I think most of the view is actually below the current screens. My pic (taken Feb.23) shows the view from just below the current screens which will be covered by the larger versions:

Cafe Crepe's seating area next to the escalator has either moved out or is being renovated. I think somebody needs to dust the tops of the steel framework for those large windows. The lamps inside the aforementioned Cafe Crepe (now removed) had 3 inches of "Winners pollen"

All will be revealed on Feb.28 at least that's the plan according to the VPL.
Or maybe it's for a couple of these (pic: City of Vancouver):
