Bye bye Iggy.

Go win a cup now! Is it a coincidence that 3 of the teams he will go to are Canuck killers (Boston, CHI, LA)? I think not.

Certainly the end of an era for Calgary when Iginla inevitably departs. The 2004 playoffs still make me bitter just thinking about he and the rest of the team should have their names on the cup.

Bob Mackenzie tweeting that multiple sources say Iginla to Boston. That is one scary team.

I hope its Boston, always liked that team. It was sad for them when Borque left, now they might be on the receiving end of a similar deal. I hope Iggy goes there.

I really hope he doesn't go to Boston. I like Iggy but I despise the Bruins. Would be a dam shame...

Sounds like Iggy to Boston. I hope he doesn't end up like so many other stars that went somewhere at the trade deadline and didn't help the team the went to. I wish him well.

Holy fuck...

The game was absolutely NUTS!!! Game of the year!!!

General Markov comes up big with the tying goal with 8 seconds left.

Habs-Bruins once again delivers... hands down the best rivalry in hockey.

U mad Rask???

If he's really off to the Bruins, I hope they win the Cup this year. Iggy is a great guy who deserves to have his name on Lord Stanley's mug.

Doesn't look like Calgary got much in return. Doesn't bode well for a Luongo trade.

Haha, Rask is a lunatic. And he's got an ugly name.

Poor Iginla, he's got no idea what they're putting him into. Welcome to the war.

As much as I would like to see Iggy get a cup, as long as he's with the Bruins I hope he never does.

I don't know if I really like this deal. Never even heard of Bartkowski or Khokhlachev.

Quote:
Jarome Iginla traded to the Boston Bruins

Aaron Ward: (12:05 AM) “Iginla traded to Bruins.”

The Calgary Flames have traded Jarome Iginla to the Boston Bruins for a 2013 1st round draft pick, defenseman Matt Bartkowski and center Alexander Khokhlachev.

Iginla was originally drafted by the Dallas Stars in 1995, 11th overall. The 35-year old right winger carries a $7 million cap hit and will be an unrestricted free agent after the season.

The 24-year old Bartkowski was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the 7th round, 190th overall in the 2008 draft. Bartkowski is under contract through next season, carrying a $650,00o salary cap hit. He’ll be an RFA after next season.

The 19-year old Khohklachev was drafted by the Bruins in the 2nd round, 40th overall in the 2011 draft.

LOL Feaster is an idiot for getting a "conditional first" (only if Iginla resigns). Bartkowski is a bordeline NHL defenseman while the Russian guy is a good prospect maybe 3C or best case 2C potential.

I used to like Iginla but he can to hell now. Pittsburgh are going to win it all this year.

EDIT: Kudos to Bergevin... Ryder is so far the best acquisition (from a trade) this season. 6 goals, 13 pts in 13 games with the Habs. Erik Cole has 2 goals and 2 pts in 12 games with the Stars.
