Beam falls on construction worker in downtown Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A construction accident on Richards Street has sent one worker to the hospital.

Vancouver Police have closed the street between Georgia and Robson and WorkSafeBC is investigating.

The accident happened at the Telus building, which is under construction, when a beam hit the worker.

A pane of glass can be seen dangling from the top of the building.

The outside of the protruding box isn't white.

Pic by me today - big ass transfer floor for the condo.
Looks like 2 condo floors are up.
I'm wondering how the façade will transition from the sawtooth edge to the straight edge above
(or maybe there will be a steel frame added to make a sawtooth?)
It would look a bit odd if the first 3 floors (or middle 2 floors?) have the sawtooth and then there's a flat façade for one level of the podium.

So there's a retail level and 3 floors of office before the condo? Or is that more like condo amenities?

1 level of retail, then 2 levels of office.
The 4th floor (which has a smaller floorplate) must have some amenities, as the swimming pool is on that level - you can see the bottom dropped from the floor slab near the alley (with open air above).

Nope, but I imagine that whoever Telus will be having manage the building has considered it as well. I have certainly been picturing it in my head since I saw it in the initial renderings.

There are dividing ridges now and then on it. It is not one continuous, smooth surface, from what I've seen.

In the model there is a man in a blue suit at the beginning of the arch with his arms crossed. Probably the over zealous security guard they will hire!
