That's a model Erin, not a mini-rendering, ha.

I really like this project, but I'm still not loving this blunt wall on this end. Are they assuming at some point the land next to it will be built out? It looks like some random back-alley wall where high school kids go to smoke.

Did they change the design for the flat wall? In the renderings it didn't have the same patterned glass but punched rectangular windows I thought. This looks much better though. Hopefully this is accurate.

Also really liking the Hilton! The floor plate is a nice change from all the separate point towers.

^ yeah I was looking at renderings not too long ago and the end wall bothered me. On the other hand I kind of like how it gives a bit of variation. I trust the architects will make the right decision :)

I think the plan is to have that parcel remain a park.

I agree with your sentiment, but just wondering what your reference point is. One thing I've found on these forums is that people have drastically different reference points, and thus my question (which is a sincere one).

Ideally a reduction from what has currently been going on there. I walk by twice a day and that park bench is often a hub of illegal activity due to the shade, shelter and seclusion provided by the tree canopy.

My hope is that CS will open that area up, provide better lighting and hopefully discourage undesirables from illegal activities.

Wow! Quite a contrast to the ring actually, which to me is very elegant (though yes, it cost money).

What's the price tag on this one? There are some massive leverage forces there. Curious to see how they'll install this beast, because it looks like the counter forces are critical to its stability.

It will certainly be visible from Memorial Drive, and add to the diversity of parks and art along the river walk.

I'm not overly averse to this actually. Bring it on!

[EDIT] I see in some of the media a price-tag of $500K is included. I think that is not bad for this. I'd definitely stop and experience this one!
