So, is phase 2 of Related Group's project still going to include a hotel? I thought Whole Foods was supposed to go under the hotel?

Whole Foods is very sensitive to columns intruding in their retail space. It's difficult to put anything above them in all but the most high cost markets due to the great expense of altering the column grid for the use above.

So it will be similar to the Publix at Midtown Plaza?

There is now a crawling boom crane on the Modera site.

Anyone have any information about the elevation shown in the retail space at 6th & Peachtree in Midtown (former sprint/clear space)?

They are actively working in the courtyard formed by Skyhouse South and Viewpoint. Do they have a grocery/deli tenant already in mind because the logo in the elevation sure looks like a modified Whole Foods logo...

Probably old news but the bigger building that shared the Checkers lot is being demolished now.

I sure hope that will be a high-end grocery store. That side of Midtown could support one now. Will that corner space definitely be combined with what they're knocking out of the garage?

Just calling out that Loudermilk owns that property and 2 other lots connected to it.

I know the broker who is representing the buyer of that site. He won't reveal the buyer or the project due to a strict confidentiality agreement, but both parking lots are indeed under contract. Bulldogs and the adjacent retail center, though, are not part of the assemblage. He claims there should be a public announcement of the project within the next month or so.

Yessss, would love to see the entire block at Peachtree/Juniper and 7th developed. Guess we'll see it at the DRC next month?

May as well take this opportunity to ask about Eviva. Is no news good news at this point? I think I heard late Summer for the beginning of construction, is that still reasonable?

Unrelated question: Whatever happened to the tower Transwestern proposed at Peachtree and 3rd?
Water and electricity are too close to the surface to build a deep enough foundation. So only low rise will do.

Interesting. I guess that project is dead then. Thanks!

Very disappointing. Guess we'll never see anything substantial built in that lot.

A lot more work being done at Modera. Wouldn't be surprised to see the main tower crane go up soon.

Also, the Southwest part of the lot for Azure on the Park (fronting 10th street) has been completely cleared and leveled. This is where Onyx was supposed to way back in 2007, and it's been a swampy hole in the ground ever since. I thought this was supposed to be phase II of the project, but hopefully they'll do something soon to fix the awful sidewalk situation there.

New West Midtown project: STOCKYARDS ATLANTA

.

Westbridge Partners, one of the original Westside Provisions District developers, is transforming 3 existing buildings at 10th and Brady Avenue into 130,000 square feet of office and retail space called STOCKYARDS ATLANTA. The $30 million project will focus on attracting users of loft office space similar to the types of tenants going into Ponce City Market. To date, the project has signed the owners of the popular Buckhead spot, Painted Pin, to a lease. Construction is slated to begin this year with a Spring 2016 opening date.

Glad to see some office space going in amongst all the residential development!

some more info on the Stockyards project and a better article

http://www.whatnowatlanta.com/2015/06/12...ding-new-130000sf-office-retail-project/

I believe these are the buildings in question ( right across from Miller Union, Westside Cultural Arts Center, and the new apartments off Brady being built ) - will be great to see these turned into office and retail as they currently sit unused. this will help further tie together the Brickworks area at Howell Mill/Marietta to the White Provisions area

Quote:
“The Stockyards project represents the redevelopment of the last of the historic buildings that made up the Miller Union Stockyards Auction House.”

The project will include street-level retail and restaurant space.
now if we could just get Compound turned into something else. When there are night club events held there it completely gridlocks the entire neighborhood
