That was fast FROM April 5, when the causeway shut down. I wonder if the channel will widen at a faster pace as a result?
Council approved a motion to explore the idea of acquiring additional land around Mill Creek that is privately owned in order to enable the Town of Riverview to continue investing in and expanding Mill Creek Nature Park.
If successful, this could more than double the current area.
I have no issue with burying the gates but it certainly seems odd that the province spent millions trying for several years to remove the old bridge abutments that were under the old Gunningsville Bridge, and will now simply bury the gates. Maybe that's BECAUSE it took millions, and years, to remove the old abutments under now-removed bridge.

Since they are filling in the area where the gates are and re-directing the flow to the north, I can see why it wouldn't make sense to waste time and money removing the abutments. They will be buried anyway. But the upper steel section should go.
