Looks like Tractor will be opening another location at the Telus Garden building on Robson by the alley.

The Junsei River restaurant at 570 Robson (between Richards and Seymour) closed a few months ago. Looks like the new tenant will be… Yokohama le-kei Ramen.

Get them a proofreader!

Even the type of ramen is inconsistent:

ie-kel
ie-kei
le-kei

In addition to high profile corner on Main vacated by Grantree at 11th, I noticed other empty corner locations: the former Sellution at 16th and the old Architype at 10th. Seems like landlords on Main have gotten a little greedy and outrun the market.

No wonder. I was looking at the cost of retail spaces around the city a year ago or so and i remember seeing the corner unit at 12th and Main (north west corner, old brown building that sat with a defunct and dusty design business for over 2 years) it was $5,500/month for around 1000sf, 3 or 5 year lease. No starting or small business would reasonably be able to make that work. The Asian ice cream place that's there now is always empty.

And now just a couple doors to the east (across the alley from Beard Papa's) will be another new eatery, Paramount Middle Eastern Cuisine.

And across from Library Square on Robson, the SKK place is gone and a Chinese tea/coffee/juice place is opening up.

Paramount is huge here in Toronto. We'll see how well it fares in BC.

It's pretty big - I can see it from the office.

Love the big sign, I was disappointed when the Mcdonalds up the street removed their flashing fry neon sign a few years ago.

Yeah that sign (even though it's just A&W) makes that building more interesting. The restaurant next door added their own awning, even though the original glass canopy was already there.
